Art ExampleJunior K and Kindergarteners are using a variety of dry color media to make a big drawing that combines lines, shapes, texture, and free draw.

st graders are making big things out of lots of little things. This practice will culminate in a colorful, relief mosaic.

nd graders are learning about bilateral symmetry and drawing half faces, half people, and half doodles that can be rubbed into paper to create a mirror image that completes the picture.

rd graders are learning the difference between drawing two and three dimensional shapes and learning to create the illusion of depth by using a vanishing point in their drawing.

th graders are learning to create monochromatic drawings. By applying varying pressure to pencils and crayons they create value scales. They are also learning to use hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling to show varying degrees of light and dark.

th graders are learning about different approaches to creating a self-portrait. Did you know your face does not need to be in your self-portrait?
