Nile Visits

Nile Visits
Posted on 06/22/2017
whaleNile is a 43-foot long humpback whale who spends summers off the coast of Massachusetts. The students of the Baldwin were visited by Cynde McInnis and the Whalemobile, a life-sized model of Nile. Cynde shared her knowledge of whales and her passion for the protection of our oceans. Cynde presented an explanation of the types of whales and they are divided into two groups – toothed whales and baleen whales. After her introduction to whales, a full-sized blow up model of Nile appeared. The awe-struck students were then welcomed into the belly of the whale where they learned about how whales eat and digest. Thank you to the Friends of Baldwin for this exciting in-school enrichment.
