What an incredible evening! Every 5th grade student selected a topic they were passionate about. They prepared a TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) talk and presented their topic to the 5th grade families at an enlightening TED Talk evening. The topics were wide-ranging including humanitarian, educational, inspirational, and advocacy on social and environmental issues.
Some of the informative topics included why women should have equal rights, making health and fitness a priority, animal rights, light pollution, transgender rights, why kids should have jobs, creative writing, body shaming, gun violence, why the school day should not be extended, and poetry.
Ms. Curreri, Ms. Ruscio, Ms. Belanger and Mr. Clermont were so proud of their students. The kids worked diligently on their speeches and showed such poise reciting them in front of a crowded gymatorium. An example of an inspiring TED Talk by Shajnin is on the next page.
