All School Meeting--Under Construction!
All School Meeting is an exciting time when our entire school community comes together and where parents are invited to join us for singing, student work and fun! Our hope is to build community and to help students develop presentation and listening skills. We also want students and parents to hear more about what’s happening at Baldwin! You may have noticed some changes in the meeting lately--one big change is that students haven’t been sharing live for the last two meetings. Instead, students have participated in videos that we showed.

We wanted to let you know that All School Meeting (ASM for short) is under construction at the moment! We are trying to figure out how to best ensure a high quality meeting that works for everyone--but kids especially. Thanks for your patience as we run shorter meetings, with fewer student voices at the moment. We promise it will change over time, but we need to organize the format first! Thanks for understanding that sometimes we have to simplify before we can rebuild in order to do it right. We also are trying some new ideas at each meeting and then reflecting about how they went. We are all about learning--even when it comes to All School Meeting!

High Fives!
Each week one student will be honored from each class with a “High Five!” High Fives will be given by the classroom teacher and will be shared with a short ceremony during lunch time (usually on Mondays). Students will be honored based on the their demonstration of our Baldwin Core Values: Effort, Care, Community, Growth, and Joy. If your child his honored, they will come home with a certificate, a small prize and a High Five Values bracelet. We are excited about honoring students for being upstanders!

Hooray for T-Shirts!
We are so grateful to Friends of Baldwin for their generous support of unifying T-shirts again this year! This year’s shirt is so special and includes a picture of Maria Baldwin on the front and a quote about Maria Baldwin on the back from one of Miss Baldwin’s students, E.E. Cummings. “From her I marvellingly learned that the truest power is gentleness.” Yes! E.E. Cummings went to the Agassiz School (the former name of our school) and Maria Baldwin was his teacher! Kids will be getting shirts over the course of the next two weeks and we’d like them to wear their shirts on December 7th for the All School Meeting, which will take place at 1:15 PM. Some younger grade teachers choose to keep the shirts at school so they can use them for field trips, so check in with your child’s teacher if you don’t see the shirt come home!
