Join Us for Pajama Storytelling Night
Posted on 10/30/2014
October 30 | 6:30 - 7:30PM

Pajama PartyCome to a storytelling performance by Tony Toledo, telling silly and scary stories. Hear stories from other ‘famous’ Baldwin storytellers. Suzette Abbott will lead student storytelling / story acting. Friends of Baldwin will host a dinner fundraiser starting at 5:30PM in the cafeteria.

At 6:30PM, students in grades JK - 2 and their families head to the library and enjoy Tony Toledo. Students in grades 3-5 can enjoy scary and silly stories and also share in stories of 4th and 5th grade students (3rd floor). At 7PM, it is time for students in grades 3-5 to enjoy Tony Toledo in the library and the younger students can do Storytelling with Suzette or hear their choice of scary and silly stories (3rd floor).

Suzette works with our kindergarten classrooms doing storytelling / story acting. Parents will learn the value of storytelling. In storytelling, each child's story is heard and valued. Everyone is successful. The sharing of stories helps children feel they belong to a community. As they act out the stories, children learn self-regulation and teamwork as they listen to the words of the story, act out their parts and follow the directions of their peers. Storytelling motivates children to use language in a way that develops their language skills and their vocabulary, and gives them the confidence to tell stories.
