Baldwin School Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Baldwin School Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Posted on 10/18/2017

Our library will be getting into the fall spirit by having a pumpkin/gourd decorating contest of favorite book characters. Students may enter one pumpkin individually or classrooms may enter one for the class. Entries may be dropped off in the library Monday, October 23th - Friday, October 27th. Students will be able to vote on their favorites during library class.

Contest Rules

  • You may use pumpkins or gourds or both to create your project.
  • Absolutely no carved entries. Pumpkins/gourds that have carved, poked or punctured skin will be disqualified.
  • To decorate you can use paper, paint, glue, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items. Be creative! Projects must represent a book character from a book that would be appropriate for elementary students.
  • Bring a copy of the book or a picture of the book cover to display with your pumpkin. Be sure your name is in any book you lend for the display.
  • Do not write your name on the project. Your entry form will have your name.
  • You may do this project individually, as a family (please let kids do the work), or as a homeroom.

Entries may be dropped off in the library Monday, October 23th - Friday, October 27th. All projects must be picked up by November 10th. Those that remain after this date will be discarded.

Students will vote on their favorite pumpkins during library class.

Pumpkins will be on display inside the library and during Pajama Storytelling Night.
