Catapulting into STEM Club

Catapulting into STEM Club

CartapultAt STEM club, the kids make, build, and have fun! STEM Club meets on Friday mornings, 8 - 8:40AM in the library for students in grades 2 - 5. STEM Club is run by many dedicated Baldwin parents spearheaded by Kjersti Rosen and Todd Zickler.

The first meeting of STEM Club is Friday, October 6. Baldwin parent Todd Zickler will kick off the new year with Popsicle stick catapults. The kids will enjoy launching different type of ammunition including small pom-poms. What a great way to learn about elastic energy. If you would like to make them a catapult at home, click here for instructions.

Coming up, the students will learn about other types of energy by making roller coasters.

Please come and explore STEM with your child! Parent volunteers are needed to make STEM Club a success. No prior experience necessary, just wanting to help your child learn by building, making and doing. Parent volunteers are needed throughout the year, so come when your schedule allows. If mornings don't work, keep an eye out for a call for volunteers to help at the annual STEM Fair in December. If you would like to help, please email Kjersti.
